The Best Movies of 2002

I am so excited to write about the 2002’s best movies because they include my favourite ones, and I truly recommend that you watch them all in the list below. You won’t regret it, I promise.

1. The Pianist
Although I wrote about this exquisite movie before, I must mention it again. The Pianist is one of the most accurate films out there about Holocaust and its effect upon humanity. The emotional story is delivered in a gloomy atmosphere where the characters’ last hope hardly flickers or is long gone. The film shows again that music means life, when Władysław Szpilman survived the most crucial fate of the Jewish nation due to his ability of playing piano.

2. Equilibrium
The film is set in a dystopian future where the survivors of World War III are controlled by a totalitarian government that requires all citizens to take daily injections of “Prozium”, substance that annihilates emotions and the idea of free will. The disobedience of a group of people, including an important man in the society leads to major events that will change the history again.

3. A Walk To Remember
Consider by many the perfect illustration of love, A Walk To Remember taught us that love requires scarification and the fact that love is different from what the value system of this society promotes. Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter are the protagonists who experience the love described in the Corinthians 13. Prepare yourself to laugh and cry… A lot.

Other movies worth mentioning are: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, City of God, Gangs of New York and many others.
