I put together this list of films along with significant in-movie lines, for the Sci-Fi and fantasy fans, or for people who once in a while like to escape reality. The films come in random order.

1. Interstellar
Date of release: 7 November 2014
IMDB’s rating: 8.7/10
Stars: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain
Lines: Cooper: We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the Stars. Now we just look down, and worry about our place in the dirt.
Murph: [through video monitor] Hey Dad. You sonabitch. Never made one of these while you were still responding because I was so mad at you for leaving. And when you went quiet, it seemed like I should live with that decision, and I have. But today’s my birthday. And it’s a special one, because you told me… you once told me that by the time you came back we might be the same age. And today I’m the same age you were when you left. So it’d be a real good time for you to come back.

2. Tomorrowland
Date of release: 22 May, 2015
IMDB’s rating: 6.6/10
Stars: George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie
Lines: Nix: Let’s imagine… if you glimpsed the future, you were frightened by what you saw, what would you do with that information? You would go to the politicians, captains of industry? And how would you convince them? Data? Facts? Good luck!… Meanwhile your earth was crumbling all around you. You’ve got simultaneous epidemics of obesity and starvation. Explain that one! Bees and butterflies start to disappear, the glaciers melt, algae blooms. All around you the coal mine canaries are dropping dead and you won’t take the hint! In every moment there’s the possibility of a better future, but you people won’t believe it.

3. Edge of Tomorrow
Date of release: 6 June, 2014
IMDB’s rating: 7.9
Stars: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton
Lines: Master Sergeant Farell: Battle is the Great Redeemer. It is the fiery crucible in which true heroes are forged. The one place where all men truly share the same rank, regardless of what kind of parasitic scum they were going in.

4. Inception
Date of release: 16 July, 2010
IMDB’s rating: 8.8
Stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page
Lines: Cobb: What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient… highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it’s almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed – fully understood – that sticks; right in there somewhere.

5. Wall-E
Date of release: 27 June, 2008
IMDB’s rating: 8.4
Stars: Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin
Lines: Captain: Well, good morning, everybody, and welcome to day 255,642 aboard the Axiom. As always, the weather is a balmy 72 degrees and sunny, and, uh… Oh, I see the ship’s log is showing that today is the 700th anniversary of our five year cruise. Well, I’m sure our forefathers would be proud to know that 700 years later we’d be… doing the exact same thing they were doing. So, be sure next mealtime to ask for your free sep-tua-centennial cupcake in a cup. Wow, look at that.

6. Guardians of The Galaxy
Date of release: 1 August, 2014
IMDB’s rating: 8.1
Stars: Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper
Lines: Gamora: I’m a warrior, an assassin. I don’t dance.
Peter Quill: Really? Well, on my planet, we have a legend about people like you. It’s called Footloose. And in it, a great hero, named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that, dancing, well, is the greatest thing there is.
Gamora: …Who put the sticks up their butts?

7. Star Wars 1977
Date of release: 25 May, 1977
IMDB’s rating: 8.7
Stars: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher
Lines: Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi: [after hiding from the stormtroopers on the Millennium Falcon] Who’s the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?

Han Solo: Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

C-3PO: Just you reconsider playing that message for him!
[R2 beeps a question] C-3PO: No, I don’t think he likes you at all.
[R2 beeps again] C-3PO: No, I don’t like you either.

8. The Matrix 1999
Date of release: 31 March, 1999
IMDB’s rating: 8.7
Stars: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss
Lines: Agent Smith: I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you’re not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You’re a plague and we are the cure.

9. Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Date of release: December 9, 2005
IMDB’s rating: 6.9
Stars: Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Tilda Swinton
Lines: Aslan: If the Witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice, she might have interpreted the deep magic differently. That when a willing victim who has committed no treachery, is killed in a traitor’s stead, the stone table will crack, and even death itself would turn backwards.

Lines: Rebecca Porter: Wait, you’re real. You’re a real person!
Dylan Kershaw: Oh, that’s the sweetest thing anybody’s said to me all day.

Rebecca Porter: Sometimes… Sometimes you just look at everything and it’s all just different. Do you know?
Dylan Kershaw: Yeah, I know. They call that puberty.
