One fact that you probably didn’t know is that in August 2013, through a Kickstarter program, the game benefited from over $400,000 donation fulfilling the developers’ wish of adding content to the game entitled “Awesomenauts: Starstorm”. The goal of the project was more than three times lower, but fans of the game around the game contributed more than expected, hoping for a game that delivers an original and suspenseful gameplay.

Some of the stretch goals that were successfully reached are: an extra map, a spectator mode and replays. Donation can still be made through PayPal on awesomenauts.com. As Jasper Koning, the head of the Ronimo Games studios affirmed, the company chose to go with Kickstarter for further developments as their console publisher DTP Entertainment had gone bankrupt after the game’s release on console. Despite this fact, they still have to pay them from every sale on the game.

Awesomenauts Assemble received mostly positive reviews on games scoring websites, holding 3.5/5 shining stars on Metacritic, 7.8/10 on IGN and 80/100 on hardcoregamer.com with Jeremy Peeple comenting “Awesomenauts was an easy recommendation before, and with the addition of new characters and other improvements, Assemble! is a must-have both for those who haven’t experienced the game and veterans who want to play the best possible console version. Anyone who enjoys run and gun shooters or action platformers will enjoy this, and it’s a perfect gateway game to the MOBA genre.” We hold our fingers crossed for the upcoming version of the game and we wish them all the best!
